Offering candle refills is a natural extension of the way Parkminster approaches home fragrance. Many of our customers return to the same candle jars again and again, valuing their weight, form, and familiarity. Candle refills allow those vessels to be reused rather than replaced, reducing waste while preserving the original candle experience.

Over time, refills have become increasingly popular with regular Parkminster customers who prefer a more considered approach to fragrance at home. By keeping the glass and refreshing only the wax, the focus remains on scent, material quality, and longevity. This method reflects a growing interest in low-waste living without sacrificing the performance or character of a well-made candle.

Refills also offer flexibility. With over 26 natural botanical fragrances available, customers can change scent with the seasons or return to a familiar favourite, all while using the same jar.

How Our Soy Wax Candle Refills Are Made

Our soy wax candle refills are made using a secret blend of soy waxes and our natural fragrance blends. Each refill begins with the careful blending of natural botanical fragrance oils in our Fragrance Workshop, before being combined with an exclusive blend of plant-grown soy waxes.

Unlike container candles, refills must be poured in a single pour and left undisturbed for at least 24 hours. During this time, the wax cools, sets, and naturally shrinks slightly away from the mould. This is an expected part of working with plant-based waxes and ensures the refill can be released cleanly and fitted into its jar.

Because candle refills are exposed to air on all sides once made, we adjust the formulation by adding additional fragrance oil. This helps maintain fragrance presence over time, compensating for the increased exposure compared to a candle poured directly into a container.

Candle Refill Care & Safety Information

To get the best results from your Parkminster soy wax candle refills, always burn them inside a suitable candle container — never on their own outside of a vessel. Once in a container, the same sensible rules for candle safety and performance apply.

• Burn your candle refill for at least one hour at a time, allowing the wax to melt fully to the edge of the container to prevent tunneling.

• Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and other debris.

• Trim the wick to 5 mm (approximately ¼ inch) before each burn.

• If the wick starts to smoke, extinguish the candle, allow the wax to cool and set, trim the wick, and then relight — never trim a burning candle.

• Always place your candle refill on a heat-resistant surface, out of drafts, and never leave a flame unattended.

• For a clean and even burn, extinguish the candle when only a small amount of wax remains. Burning to the very end can cause soot or uneven flames as the wick gets too close to the container.
