Parkminster Home Fragrance FAQ
Parkminster Home Fragrance FAQ
1. What does “made to order” mean at Parkminster?
All our candles, reed diffusers, and home fragrance products are made to order, individually crafted in our Fragrance Workshop once an order is received — we don’t make products in batches - we make them FOR YOU.
2. How does made-to-order affect delivery times?
Because each product is crafted for you from scratch, production typically adds a short lead time, but it ensures freshness, fragrance quality, and personal care in every item. We often get orders out NEXT DAY but our stated lead time is 3-5 working days.
3. What makes Parkminster candles different from other brands?
Our products are hand-poured using plant-based soy wax and blended with essential oils, giving a cleaner burn, authentic fragrance, and a more sustainable, eco-conscious candle.
4. How long do your candles burn?
Burn times vary by type:
-
Small Votives: ~15+ hours
-
Large Votives & Regency Candles: ~45–50+ hours
-
Apothecary Jars: ~35 hours
-
HÆFEN Candles: ~40–45+ hours
-
Tin Candles: ~45 hours
5. Can candle refills be used in any container?
Candle refills are designed to be burned only inside a suitable Parkminster container. NEVER burn a refill outside a vessel.
6. How do I care for my candles?
Always trim wicks to 5mm before each burn, burn long enough to melt wax to the edges, keep wax free from debris, and NEVER leave a flame unattended.
7. How do I safely use reed diffusers?
-
Keep diffuser reeds away from walls, curtains, fabrics, and painted surfaces.
-
Wash off liquid immediately if it contacts skin, flush eyes with warm water if exposed, and do not ingest.
-
Spills can damage surfaces — wipe immediately.
8. Are Parkminster fragrances natural?
Yes. Our blends use essential oils as the main component, complemented by natural fragrance oils where necessary. We do not rely on synthetic or crude-oil-based waxes.
9. Can children or pets be around my candles?
Yes, but ALWAYS keep candles out of reach of children and pets and NEVER leave burning candles unattended.
10. How should I store candles and reed diffusers?
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight to preserve fragrance and wax quality. Keep diffuser reeds upright and in a stable location.
11. What should I do if my candle smokes or flickers unevenly?
Extinguish, allow wax to cool, trim the wick, and relight. Avoid drafts during burns for a clean flame.
12. Can I reuse candle jars and tins?
Yes! Many of our vessels, including Apothecary jars, HÆFEN, and Kiln ceramic pots, can be cleaned and reused. Candle refills are available for eco-conscious reuse.
13. How can I contact Parkminster for press, collaborations, or business enquiries?

14. Where are Parkminster products made?
All items are handmade in our Fragrance Workshop in rural Cornwall, ensuring authenticity, care, and attention to detail in every candle or diffuser.
15. Are Parkminster candles safe for sensitive environments?
Our plant-based, natural ingredients are cleaner-burning than paraffin. If you have sensitivities, check fragrance notes or contact us for guidance.
