• First burn: Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges during the first use to prevent tunnelling.
• Wick maintenance: Trim the wick to 5–7 mm (¼–½ inch) before each burn to maintain a steady flame and reduce soot.
• Wax pool cleanliness: Keep the wax free from wick trimmings, matches, and debris.
• Placement: Position your tin candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from draughts, flammable items, children, and pets.
• Supervision: NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.
• Burn duration: For an even burn, avoid burning the candle down to the very base; this helps maintain flame stability and reduces smoke.
Extra note: Tin candles can get hotter than glass or ceramic containers because aluminium conducts heat efficiently and there is no extra material to buffer the base. Do not burn tin candles for excessively long periods and always place them on a coaster or heat-resistant surface to protect vulnerable surfaces such as wood.
